Our Team

Graeme graduated from Leeds University in 1983 with a degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD). In June 2001, he obtained his MFGDP (UK) from the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

Graeme and his wife, Jenny, established Thornhill Dental Practice in 1987. He retired from ‘hands-on’ clinical dentistry in June 2022, but is still very much involved with the management of the practice. Graeme thoroughly enjoys coming into the practice on a regular basis to catch up with his old patients and friends in reception. If you see Graeme and Jenny around the practice, please do say hello!

Graeme and Jenny are extremely proud of their children, Aimee and James, who, along with all members of ‘Team TD’, are continuing to provide excellent care and facilities for the next generation of valued patients at Thornhill Dental.

Graeme is a lifelong supporter of Huddersfield Town Football Club and Thornhill Dental is a supporter of the Terriers Together initiative. Graeme is part of Huddersfield Town’s ‘Equality, Diversity and Inclusion External Advisor Group’ and provides support for this initiative.

Graeme and Jenny now spend as much time as possible with their grandchildren, Laurie and Luna, and enjoy trips to the ‘Nanvan’ in Filey, cycling trips and holidays abroad.

Andy qualified from the Leeds Dental Institute in 1993 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. After graduating, he completed a year of vocational training at Thornhill Dental and has been a valued part of the practice team ever since.

Andy enjoys the varied challenges of working as a general dental practitioner. He builds strong relationships with his patients, putting them at ease. Andy is skilled at helping even very nervous patients feel more relaxed and even look forward to their dental visits.

Andy loves getting patients out of dental pain with his minimally invasive techniques and friendly approach. He enjoys providing aesthetic dentistry, improving his patients’ lives and confidence by giving them their dream smiles.

Andy is a firm believer in preventative dentistry, and tailors his advice to meet his patients’ specific needs. He uses modern materials and advanced equipment to preserve teeth and prevent the need for invasive treatment. He finds it very rewarding seeing the difference it makes when his patients follow his prevention advice and start looking after their mouths.

Outside of work, Andy enjoys music, running, and football – both playing in a 5-a-side team and following Manchester City. He also loves going for long walks in the countryside and spending time with his family and friends.

Chris graduated from the University of Leeds in 2008 with honours. Following a period of further training whilst working for the Bradford Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery team, he gained his MJDF from the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 2010. He has worked in general practice in Yorkshire since then, and joined the Thornhill Dental team in 2014.

Chris enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with the variety that general practice brings, and loves working in a family environment. He also works as an Educational Supervisor for the Yorkshire Deanery, assisting and supervising the training and development of newly graduated dental surgeons.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his young family. He is a keen follower of Bradford Bulls and Bradford City, and has coached a junior rugby team since 2015. His children enjoy rugby union, rugby league, cricket, football, and dance, and Chris is a keen follower of them in their endeavours, volunteering with several of the groups. Chris and his family also enjoy surfing, skiing, and country walks.

Jessica graduated from Newcastle University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree (BDS). She went on to achieve her MJDF with the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2019 and a Tier 2 Paediatric Dentistry qualification in 2023.

Jessica joined the Thornhill Dental team in October 2019. As well as general dental practice, she also works in the community dental service, which gives her the opportunity to continue to develop her skills in multiple environments.

Jessica has a particular interest in preventative dentistry and enjoys creating an environment that makes her patients as comfortable as possible while in the dental surgery. These are skills that she continues to develop in community dentistry, working with phobic, paediatric and adult special care patients.

In her spare time, Jessica enjoys travel, cooking, walking and skiing with friends and family.

Aadil studied in the beautiful city of Valencia in Spain, and graduated with his grado en odontologia (degree in dentistry) in 2019. He joined the team at Thornhill Dental in 2023.

Aadil enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and loves being able to make a positive change to his patients’ oral health and confidence. He is keen to progress in restorative dentistry in the coming years.

Outside of dentistry, Aadil enjoys spending time with his family and daughter. He tries to visit the golf range once a month and enjoys a friendly game of squash. When he is at home, Aadil likes to garden and enjoys cooking new recipes.

Maria originally qualified in Madrid, Spain in 2009. She made the transition to the UK in 2010, where she embarked on her career as a dentist. From 2010 to 2015, she garnered valuable experience in both NHS and private general dental practice. Since then, she has continuously honed her skills through postgraduate studies in the UK and overseas.

In 2014, Maria successfully completed a two-year diploma course at UCLan University, laying a strong foundation in knowledge and skills for dental implant treatment. Subsequently, in 2017, she achieved an MSc in oral surgery, dental implant, and prosthodontics after a rigorous two-year full-time program. These years saw her gain expertise in complex surgical and restorative procedures related to dental implantology.

Maria’s commitment to professional development led her to a minimally invasive soft tissue course with Dr. Allen at Dallas University in 2018, where she acquired expertise in managing soft tissue in teeth and dental implants. Her pursuit of excellence also involved undertaking advanced implantology courses in various international locations renowned for their leadership in the field, including the USA, Italy, Austria, Madrid, and Germany.

Further showcasing her dedication to her craft, Maria holds a certificate in advanced periodontal, peri-implant, soft tissue, and cosmetic therapy from London. Her deep interest in advancing laser therapy treatment in dental procedures forms a cornerstone of her surgical approach, prioritising minimal intervention techniques that contribute to faster healing and a painless, trouble-free recovery for her patients.

Maria loves creating life-changing smiles for her patients, with meticulous treatment planning aimed at restoring not only her patients’ beautiful smiles but also their complete dental function. She is passionate about providing both restorative and surgical dental treatments and believes in the power of a collaborative team approach.

Outside of dentistry, Maria’s diverse interests include golf and skiing. She also actively engages in charitable endeavours, contributing her skills and expertise to underserved regions, including Honduras, Nicaragua, and Africa, to provide basic dental treatment and make a positive impact on communities in need.

Leena graduated from the University of Leeds in 2023 with both a Bachelor degree and Master’s degree in dental surgery. Before she started working at Thornhill Dental, she was a registered patient along with her family for eight years. The lovely experiences and interactions she had with the Thornhill team while growing up solidified her intentions to become a dentist herself.

Leena loves building relationships with all the different patients that come into the clinic, helping them feel welcome and at ease. She especially enjoys providing supportive and comfortable dental care that results in an overall positive experience.

Leena relishes that every day is different, allowing her to constantly evolve, develop, and learn new things. She also loves working in such a fantastic team.

Outside of work, Leena enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling to new countries, and eating good food. She is currently learning to play tennis, and generally enjoys learning new skills. You can often find her reading a good book or watching a movie, especially in the winter!

Dr Nasar Mahmood is an experienced private dentist with over 13 years in clinical practice, dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care in a calm and welcoming environment. He believes dentistry should feel relaxed, transparent and tailored to each individual patient.

Nasar has a particular interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry, alongside clear aligner orthodontics and comprehensive smile improvements. He has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Orthodontics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology and Restorative Dentistry, and is currently completing an advanced Diploma in Veneers and Occlusion with the Bespoke Smile Academy, further developing his expertise in aesthetic smile design and restorative treatment planning.

Earlier in his career, Nasar gained valuable surgical experience working in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery within a hospital setting, managing complex dental conditions and surgical cases. This background continues to inform his careful and comprehensive approach to patient care. Alongside clinical practice, Nasar has a strong interest in the psychology of dentistry and dental anxiety. He has lectured on the subject, received a distinction for his dissertation exploring dental fear, and has previously written for the British Dental Journal Student Edition. He was also a Finalist for Young Dentist of the Year (2017) in recognition of his clinical work and patient care.

Outside the clinic, he enjoys teaching, writing.

In August 2020, Rosie took a significant step in her professional development by achieving her Level 7 qualification in Cosmetic Injectables for Aesthetic Medicine—one of the highest industry-recognised qualifications in the field. This advanced training has enabled her to offer a range of non-surgical treatments designed to enhance natural beauty with precision and care.

Passionate about delivering exceptional results, Rosie takes a holistic and personalised approach to aesthetics. She focuses on achieving natural enhancements tailored to each individual, helping patients prevent and restore signs of ageing, maintain healthy skin, and feel their most confident. With her warm and professional manner, Rosie is dedicated to ensuring every patient feels at ease, providing expert guidance and treatments that align with their aesthetic goals.

Rebecca is a highly qualified Skin and Massage Therapist with a passion for helping clients feel confident in their own skin. With Level 2, 3, and 4 qualifications from the prestigious White Rose School of Beauty, Rebecca brings a wealth of expertise to the beauty and wellness industry. Further enhancing her skills, she is CPD-trained with leading brands such as Medi MD, Eve Taylor, and Lynton Lasers, ensuring cutting-edge techniques and exceptional care.

Known for a warm and friendly approach, Rebecca creates a welcoming environment where clients feel at ease. Her favourite part of her role is empowering people to embrace their natural beauty, boosting their confidence through personalised skin and massage treatments. With a commitment to excellence and a genuine passion for client care, Rebecca transforms every session into a rejuvenating and uplifting experience.

Holly achieved her Level 3 diploma in dental nursing at the University of Leeds, also completing her dental radiography and orthodontic nursing qualifications. She went on to graduate with her Dental Hygiene and Therapy qualification from the University of Sheffield.

Holly joined the team at Thornhill Dental in September 2022 and loves working amongst such a friendly and highly skilled team. When coming to work doesn’t feel like work, you know you are in the right place!

Holly enjoys meeting new people and forming connections with her patients, helping them improve their oral health with tailored treatment, advice and education.

Outside of work, Holly loves exercise and going to the gym, particularly for crossfit and hyrox. She also enjoys dog walks, baking and escape rooms.

Bethany achieved her qualification in Dental Hygiene and Therapy at the University of Leeds in 2023, and joined the team at Thornhill Dental in the same year.

Bethany enjoys meeting and treating people from all walks of life, helping to enhance their oral health through personalised treatment and advice. She has a gentle approach and is skilled at helping patients with dental anxiety overcome their fears and feel more at ease.

Outside of work, Bethany enjoys staying active and participating in sports and activities including paddleboarding, surfing, and walks with friends. She also loves spending time with her family and friends.

Daisy graduated with a BSc in Dental Hygiene and Therapy from the University of Leeds. She joined the practice team in October 2023.

Daisy loves being part of such a fantastic team, working together to provide tailored care for every patient. She takes pride in giving her patients the knowledge and skills to improve and maintain their oral health for the long term.

In her spare time, Daisy is currently studying to become a dentist. She also enjoys going to the gym, singing, and visiting her family in Kent when she can.

Gill achieved her diploma in Dental Hygiene in Leeds in 1999 and joined the Thornhill Dental team in August 2000, making her one of the longest-standing members!

Gill enjoys working with the wonderful patients, helping them achieve healthy smiles and boost their confidence. She also loves being part of the friendly and supportive extended family team at Thornhill.

Outside of work, Gill enjoys swimming, gigging, and films. She is also passionate about art and theatre.

Wahida joined the Thornhill Dental team in 2013 and brings over 24 years of experience as a Dental Nurse. As our Oral Health Champion, Wahida leads dedicated clinics for our younger patients, offering friendly guidance on brushing, diet and prevention to help children build strong, healthy smiles.

In her dental nursing role, Wahida assists with general dentistry, restorative treatments and implant procedures, supporting both patients and clinicians to ensure care is delivered safely and comfortably. She also has experience nursing in our specialised clinics for children with complex medical conditions and social circumstances, providing calm, compassionate support tailored to each child’s individual needs.

Wahida loves caring for children and patients with additional support needs, always delivering treatment with honesty, kindness and enthusiasm. She is a proud mum of two and enjoys spending quality time with her family outside of dentistry. An ambitious team player, Wahida thrives in a busy environment and is a valued member of the Thornhill Dental team.
