A simple and pain-free way to brighter and healthier teeth
If you are looking for a deep teeth clean without the discomfort that is associated with scaling, Airflow polishing could be the ideal treatment. Airflow gives a powerful and highly effective clean, removing build-ups of plaque and tartar and reducing surface stains to achieve a brighter, healthier and more polished smile.
Why choose Airflow treatment?
- Pain-free and gentle treatment
- Suitable for most patients, including those with sensitive teeth
- Easier and quicker than conventional hygiene treatment
- Removes stains from your teeth for a brighter smile
- Protects your mouth from gum disease
- Can be used as a quick option to improve your smile before a special occasion
How does Airflow treatment work?
The Airflow system uses a highly powered and controlled spray technology to project a jet of warm water, compressed air and a specialised bicarbonate powder onto your teeth. It can reach all areas of your mouth, even those a manual clean may overlook, to clean away areas of plaque and gently but effectively remove stains.
Airflow hygiene treatment is fast, non-invasive and completely pain-free. It is much kinder to teeth than the more traditional ‘scale and polish’, which some patients find causes discomfort and tooth sensitivity. At Thornhill Dental, we use EMS Airflow products to give you the very best result. The Airflow nozzle does not make contact with your teeth, making this treatment a good option for nervous patients.
How much does Airflow cost?
At Thornhill Dental, we have a number of Airflow options to suit every patient. If you are interested in Airflow, we will advise which treatment is best for your preferences and clinical needs. A guide to our pricing is below. For more information, please contact a member of our friendly team.

Is Airflow suitable for me?
Airflow treatment is generally suitable for most patients, even those who have braces fitted or dental restorations such as crowns and veneers. It is a very gentle treatment and can clean all areas of your mouth without causing damage. We will make sure you are suitable for Airflow treatment before we begin.
Can I have Airflow treatment without being a registered patient?
At Thornhill Dental, our Airflow treatment options are currently only available to patients registered at our practice. We are hoping to introduce direct access Airflow treatment, which will be open to all, in the future.
Is Airflow treatment safe?
Airflow hygiene treatment is a very safe and effective method of deep cleaning your teeth. It is minimally invasive and designed to be a much more pleasant experience than a traditional scale and polish clean. Our hygienists are highly trained and experienced in using Airflow treatment to get the best results.
Can Airflow whiten my teeth?
Airflow treatment removes stains from your teeth, leaving them looking whiter and brighter. It is not designed to whiten teeth, and may not be as effective on deep stains. If you would like to enhance the colour of your smile, you may wish to consider our professional teeth whitening treatment.
